Hi Friends! My name is Adele and I live in New York. Music has always been a huge part of my life.
It all began with an Italian’s Children’s Festival named “Zecchino D’oro” and the Little Choir Mariele Ventre of Antoniano of Bologna and boy are these two things the most important to me. My first memory of the festival was when I was four years old my mother recorded a little part of the 38th Zecchino D’oro (1995) on VHS and for many years I only listened and followed that year’s songs. As I grew up and discovered youtube I began to search for the songs that I loved so much (my favorite song was called “Amico, Nemico” or Friend, Enemy” but I never really found much from 1995.) instead I found songs from other years and I began to learn each and every one of the ones I didn’t know. For years I did this because, due to school and the time difference I wasn’t able to catch the broadcasts as they came through each November. Finally in 2006 I was able to watch the finale and that year we were up to the 49th edition of the festival where my favorite song was “E Solo un Gioco/ It’s Only A Game” because it was just so full of joy and very fun. I remember that year and the years that followed I used Microsoft Word and created ‘books’ with the lyrics and a title page with the winning song’s name and stored them away some place safe. This was so much fun for me. When I turned 18 years old I tried to write to the Antoniano asking if there was some possibility of going to Italy and seeing this festival live. I think I wrote them too late in the year because they always told me no. After, when i was talking to a friend she told me there was a way as “animatrice” or entertainer of children. I wrote back in 2012 and there I finally got the chance to go see the 55th edition of Zecchino D’oro! This is hands down the most amazing thing that has ever happened in my life and I was so happy that words can simply not express the emotion I felt. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that the minute I heard the theme song playing I had tears in my eyes because this was finally happening and I was so happy. What I also didn’t know is that I would make rare friends from all over Italy and other countries as well who made me feel welcomed and like I was at home for the first time ever and who I will hold close to my heart forever. Friends that have the same passion I do for music, the festival and the little choir. I also had the opportunity in 2013 to go to their end of the year concert as well as another concert they did throughout Italy. I met new people and ex chorus members along with current ones and have also made new friends there. I remember taking so many videos my iPhone storage was full, but the experience is something I will never forget. The atmosphere created by the studio, festival and choir are each very different but they all have one thing in common: you remember to become a child once again. You can’t forget about the kid inside you that sometimes needs to come out. You can’t pour yourself into work with no play, it will get you nowhere. And so for a week each November I return to my inner child and let her come out to have some fun. We sing and dance and make new friends and most importantly: we grow and learn. “And you know the news: When we’re all grown up, the Zecchino D’oro will remain a kid.” – Theme song 50th edition, Zecchino D’oro.

Mi chiamo Adele e vivo a New York! Per me la musica e sempre stata una grande parte della mi vita. Particolarmente lo Zecchino D’oro e il Piccolo Coro Mariele Ventre dell’Antoniano di Bologna sono due delle cose più importanti per me. Il mio primo ricordo dello Zecchino e da piccola, quando avevo quattro anni, mia madre aveva registrato un pezzettino del 38 Zecchino D’oro (1995) su video casetta e per molti anni ho seguito solo quell’anno. Mentre crescevo e ho scoperto YouTube mi mettevo a cercare le canzoni che amavo così tanto (la mia preferita era “Amico, Nemico” ma dal 1995 non trovavo nulla) invece trovavo canzoni da altri anni seguenti e mi mettevo ad imparare le canzoni che non sapevo. Per anni facevo così perché non potevo seguire l’edizioni seguenti Im TV per colpa di impegni di scuola. Finalmente nel 2006 ho cominciato a seguire l’edizioni In TV con il 49 Zecchino D’oro dove la mia canzone preferita era “E solo un gioco” perché era così allegra e divertente. Mi ricordo andando sul computer e trovando i testi, creando una copertina, e costruendo qualcosa tipo libro per ogni anno con la canzone vincitrice scritto bello grande. Era una cosa molto divertente per me.

Quando ho compiuto i 18 anni ho provato a scrivere all’antoniano chiedendo se c’era qualche possibilità di venire a vedere lo zecchino e mi sa che scrivevo troppo tardi perché per due o tre anni mi hanno detto sempre di no. Dopo, quando parlavo con una mia amica mi ha spiegato che c’era la possibilità di fare l’animatrice. Ho scritto l’anno prossimo e nel 2012 al 55 Zecchino D’oro ho avuto la possibilità di andare allo Zecchino D’oro! Era la cosa più bella della mia vita è ero così felice che non posso spiegare la felicità tra le parole. Ero così emozionata che mi ricordo quando sono entrata in studio sentendo la sigla (perché c’erano le prove) e pensando che era il coro che cantava. Mi sono quasi messa a piangere ero così contenta. Non sapevo che conoscevo anche degli amici rari da tutte le parti del mondo che mi facevano sentire come se fossi a casa e che ci tengo vicino per sempre. Amici che hanno la stessa passione come me per lo Zecchino e il Piccolo Coro.

Ho avuto anche la possibilità l’anno prossimo nel 2013 di andare sia al concerto del saggio che a un concerto a Castel San Pietro con degli altri animatori ed era meravigliosa. Ho conosciuto alcune coristi e altri nuovi amici anche la. Avevo fatto tanti video del concerto che lo spazio nel iPhone era pieno. Ma la esperienza me la ricorderò per sempre.

L’atmosfera dello studio, lo Zecchino e il Piccolo Coro sono molto diversi ma hanno tutti una cosa in comune: ti fanno tornare bambino. Non puoi dimenticare il bambino/la bambina dentro di te che certe volte devi ricordarti che sempre lavoro niente gioco non ti aiuterà mai.
